    LeKing Drag GTR Project

First id like to say im stripping the car from the interior removing anything that would be useless in car. This car will only be for drag use and week-end drive bye. Engine is out (no oil pressure) the compression was 120 cold all across 6 piston some det on 1 the head gasket was cracked and prestone went in oil pan. I smell a rebuild. This is a project so it may take a while but i want to go back to the drag strip by next summer. Im thinking of 2.8L stroker HKS T51RSPL TURBO setup. Parts i have OS GIKEN triple plate clutch AEM EMS Uego with 3 gauges Trust fmic Grex oil cooler relocator oil temp, oil pressure Omori gauges splitfire coils iririum plugs Z32 MAF cusco front rear strut bar rollcage. There is a aftermarket fuel pump i don,t no what it is but it push my 1000cc Rc inj. two lines that go to the pipe at both ends one was tap in close to the firewall. Turbo set up was twin HKS2530 with Apexi power fc tune to 422WHP and best quarter mile was 12.34 at 117mph. Now with the Aem i figured i would have been in the 11 for sure with slicks. But now ill never know cause im rebuilding block so i need advice on what im going to keep on the car and make it light on her feet.

This is my motor when i just bought the car in september of 2007. Yes hard HKS piping came with the M's cone filter makes a nice polish look. Notice that they had put 2 filters on the blowby valve covers.hummm interesting!!!

Then 6 days later I went for a few 1/4 mile pull. It did not go as plan. My rear turbo needed to be rebuild. It was spooling really weird almost puffing this was really disapointing but i just knew there was something special with this one.

HKS 2530 yes sir all cleaned and rebuild.

Painted my manifold with high heat temp paint had to cure on top a wood stove they came out pretty good.

Now to put it all back in.

After it was complet i had to check for leaks . Prestone was gushing out from under neat of the car what a mess. Freaking oil leak also made it a pain those press copper washer were used or something it did not seal properly even to this day i still have some leaks because of those copper ring. Installing turbos and manifolds is so a pain in the ass u absolutely have no room and after u have to torque these bolts holly crap . Now i wish i should of pull the motor out u have to drain block anyways. O well there's always next year.

When i got the car it came with a stupid shift knob everytime i shifted the knob was coming off. I really like the Nismo carbon fiber look so i went with that. I decided to buy a C's short throw kit from Nengun it really shorten the throw and help me shift left handed . I needed a oil filter so i baught a trust oil filter and a nismo radiator cap. That was my first order from japan.

Time for her first oil change AMSOIL

So in the winter i ordered with RHD japan Apexi Power FC,SplitFire coils and a HKS manifold gasket set since i needed to put my turbo's back in. I installed my Innovate wide band gauge were my Omori water temp was since its not working and i can now monitor it on the power fc. Now she's coming along just like i want to just before i go on the Dyno. You'll notice i removed the leather trim from the hand brake and shifter they were cracking so out to the garbage they went.

Here is pics of my engine before and after.

YES TW those breather have now been change especially the one on the turbo side would let blowby over my turbo. Image me and my wife driving along we accelerated pretty good meening it boosted so i see smoke coming from the dash it s like WTF....oil dripping on the rear turbo to the downpipe was burning and was able to creep where the tranny is to the ashtray console. Quite funny now but at the time it's like is there a short or what.HAHA

    OSGIKEN twin plate

Since i had no clue of how much hp this car was making. I decided on buying a triple plate.

Since now the car had cost me a few $$$$ to repair i decided to go on the Dyno get her tune right and then next year ill be ready to go on the drag and see how she does on the 1/4 mile.
