Project: ONISPEED

We're finally going to commence our project build up for our GTR-32. After amassing a ton of parts from JDMSPEEDSHOP and some setbacks in terms of choosing a car; we're ready to start. There's still a lot of parts to get; and a lot of items left to decide upon; however the goal is to make a faster; reliable daily driver, and document the whole process on GTRC to demonstrate what can and shouldn't be done with a GTR. This may be common knowledge for some; but I think it would be good to demonstrate what we can do right here in Canada.

Here's what we have to start with...

Year: 1991
Model: Nissan GT-R32
Mileage: 119,000 kms

Current Parts List: Black 17" Nismo LMGT4 Rims, Trust Exhaust, M's intakes, HKS piping; Seibon suspension, Veilside front lip. Front mount oil cooler. Steel braided oil lines, Samco Radiator Hoses, HKS SSQBV's, NGK Irridiums.

Current Dyno Stats:
292.1 WHP @ 6899 RPM/ 122.3 MPH

60' 1.570486
1/4 mile - 13.47403

What we've discovered so far... a stock GTR is a GREAT car; start with a good base platform and it will only get better. The stock clutch cannot hold the power the RB engine will produce.

Parts to install:

Dary from JDMSPEEDSHOP was able to snag us a great set of HKS 2530's on Yahoo Japan with only 8K on them. We just got them today; can't wait to install them!

Parts to Install: Power FC with Boost Controller, Greddy Oil Relocation kit; Greddy Air Diversion Plate, Defi BF gauges, Greddy A-Pillar 3 guage pod. Greddy Oil Catch can (essential to prevent oil sludge buildup in your engine.)

I'm still debating what colour to paint her.... something to match the Black LM's... Any suggestions?

I would paint it 350z Orange ..

I've been wondering this for ever, what is up with that front bumper? Is that just an insert or a whole aftermarket bumper?

Orange? Cool...

The front lip is an FRP lip made by Veilside... I haven't really seen one on a GTR before... I think it makes the car look unique and mean!

looks awesome Mitch, can't wait to see what kind of power it will put down after all the parts are in.

As for colour, thats a hard one, I'm a fan of the gunmetal! A shade between silver and gunmetal would be cool as well, seen a couple nice ones like that.

I would definitely be interested to see where this leads you. One thing though, 600cc will be too weaksauce for your application. I'd check into 720cc or bigger. I would also make sure you switch to better plugs. Nismo Iridiums comes to mind. Tomei Fuel pumps are teh sex. Adam brought me to Tomei in January and Miyahara-san went into a long explanation as to why their pumps are so much better. I was impressed. Stay away from Walbro. You should ditch the hicas as well.

oh and here is an example of the orange I was talking about.. It would look like teh sex on the GTR with black rims..

Yes I know, it's my number one problem, I can't decide which car to keep... but customers come first... you know how it is...

We've got that 486HP GTR on the way; but there's nothing to be done to her; I think we would get more satisfaction building up the car ourselves. Who knows JZ, you might want to buy it from us after! LOL!

What do you think guys? Nissan 350Z orange?

Another thought was to do a silvery-gunmetal pearl colour, but with a black base...
