    BOV constantly going off sometimes?

so i have the stock recirculating bov system and i was cruising on the highway, whenever i hit boost a little over ~.5-.6bar i hear the bov system constantly going off until im at 0. once i got off the highway i decided to restart the car....and now its completely fine! my boost restrictors are off and i could easily hit .9bar again

anyone have a clue on what may be wrong?

    Thanks!

BOV got stuck open? May want to clean them if it hasn't been done before.

Had the same issue with a friend's GTR. BOVs got jammed open. Give 'em a cleaning and you should be fine

yeah they were never cleaned before, i wasnt sure how to clean them properly so i never touched it.

    Does anyone know how?

EDIT. I read to soak it in gasoline overnight, should be a good way to clean it right? (its a oem unit)

I think one of your BOV's has probably worn out the diaphragm and is going bad. I had the same symptom with my car. I noticed especially going up hills one would continually choo-choo at low boost pressure. Turned out it had gone bad so I replaced them both and problem solved.

Orrrrrrr you got yourself a boost leak... Could also be a loose clamp etc. that holds vacuum but leaks at 'x' psi

Sounds more like the bov sticking
A boost leak would provide different symptoms
My old school HKS bov was stuck open and it caused a loss of about 1 psi, my loose clamp on charge piping caused the motor to sputter and was boost couldn't be applied

Been 2 days since it happened and its running like it never happened lol

Holding boost up to .9bar just fine, i really hope its just a dirty valve, im pretty sure its not a boost leak as i could hear the choo-chooing when it happened as i was losing boost
