Recirculating the HKS SSQV - Who has done this?

    Hey Folks,

Before I begin, I dont want this to turn into a debate about using BOVs etc. I am well aware of all the advantages/disadvantages of recirculation, vent to atmosphere and no BOVs so I would appreciate it if we just stuck to the info I am looking for

I have a pair of older HKS SSQVs (or whatever they were called then). HKS sells the recirculation fittings for the valves in 3 different sizes, the largest being 29mm OD fitting, for a 29 mm ID recirculation hose.

The inner diameter of the Y-Pipe for the two recirculation lines on the Y-side for the BNR32 is ~35mm ID and ~38 OD.

    So the questions are:

    1. Has anyone recirculated the HKS BOVs through the stock Y-Pipe?
2.If so, how did you do it? (i.e. Pipe sizing etc.)

I know I can make it work by using a smaller OD piping as a gasket for the HKS fitting, but wanted to know if anyone had done it a cleaner way.

    Thanks

    FS

So the fitting went in fine. The issue I have now is clearance.

It looks like once the Y-Pipe goes in, Im not going to have room to fit hoses. Pics to come, and another thread once its all done.

Does anyone have a picture of the normal setup or the Y-Pipe in place?

    Good news and bad news.

In order to make the HKS valves recirc, you cant use the stock Y-pipe, you have to get a smaller (shorter) one custom made, which I did.

However I decided to ditch the custom made piece and the HKS and go with different BOVs that fit onto the stock Y-Pipe. Therefore I wont be writing up a DIY on it because I never actually went through with the HKS valves.

Ill post pics sometime next week of the custom piece.
