Valve Clearance Specs on A/M setup?

heys guys. So I am going to be running new valves, guides, springs, retainers and cams. I am wondering if the valve clearance specs of 0.45mm on the stock head would still apply to an aftermarket setup such as this. I am unsure if I am going to use a "drop-in" cam (Poncam type a/b, etc) or something with a lift over 10mm, but would this affect the specs? Just trying to figure this all out.... and to source the shims

    Thanks for any help.

I was actually just about to post this same thread because I'm in the same boat. I'm running stainless valves now and they expand at a different rate than stock.

IMO the stock clearances are real, real loose and I'm not sure why. Bike heads set up the same way run 1/4 of the clearance compared to the GTR head. There must be a reason but I don't know what it is.

I planned on baking my valves and measuring them and comparing to the stock expansion rates. I'll post back here with what I find.

How's your head sound? Noisy or quiet?

I did extensive googling and find that many people just run stock clearances, though tomei apparently lists (this is 2nd hand knowledge, I didn't read it myself) 12 and 15 thou for their camshafts.
