    messed up engine, timing issue...

hey guys. finally got my engine running again today...but its still running like poop.

I pulled the plugs..all of them just caked in black crap. this is from 3 months driving...

checked compression, numbers as follows from front to back of engine: 130,120,140,140,140,130. how do these numbers look?

i checked timing and it looked way off, i was reading off the loop at the back of the engine. had to turn my cas all the way Clockwise to even get it close to the 20* mark..

slightly low idle, punch the throttle and a little black smoke out the tail pipe(rich?)

I should point out the the engine is pretty much all stock, except for pod filters, downpipe and exhaust. injectors are new oem replacements that i installed three months ago along with new fuel filter.

Right now Im thinking maybe one of my cam gears slipped a tooth?

any thoughts would be very helpful and appreciated, thank you!

Did you do wet and dry compression test? The manual states a rebuild with numbers that low on a stock setup. Valves are probly wrecked due to timing being out. Maybe I am wrong, just a guess

ok, heres an update. i found out that reading off the loop at the back of the engine gives off readings unless you use a nissan timing light... got the timing sorted now but its still running rich enough to foul plugs in a short period of time. i dont quite understand because its pretty much all stock. ive started looking for vacuum leaks.

as for the compression test, i understand that 130 is ok as long as its consistent. im worried about the #2 cylinder with 120.

and also i didnt do a wet test, slipped my mind and i wasnt about to take all the plugs out again.
