LS2 TRUCK Coils - Coilpacks alternative, finding a different coils that migh work

    FINAL UPDATE:

I did an extensive research and find out that the best coil to use is GM LS2 TRUCK coil, also known by the name YUKON coil

They are just amazing pieces and "SMART" too, so we eliminating the factory ignitor as well. They are very recognizable from the rest of the coils because they have small heatsink on top of them and this means that they can take abuse of increased DWELL setting.

Here is the cool video where guy testing some GM coils:

    ORIGINAL POST
Im qouting couple of thread from random threads in order to get best replacement ignition coils (alternative for a stock ones)

    Here is qotation from GTRCO.UK

I went to wasted spark on my Skyline because my ECU is one of those which only have 4 drivers and my coils (which were already around 100,000km old) didn't take long to give in to the load and start missing - and it made complete sense to replace the coils with ones designed to fire twice per complete cycle.
I strongly disagree with this because my stock engine but turboed 95 Altima having ONE coil and a 4 spark plugs redlined at 7k rpm, which means that the coil is working close to 28k rpm, and i never have any spark cut out problems!

Here is another qoutation where guy installed 6 Nissan coils (Altima/Stanza, Maxima, ETC) to an RB motor, here i strongly belive that this kind of ignition which is designed to work with 4 cylinders and now working only on one will have much better and stronger spark compare to any kind of aftermarket ign coil we might think!

Also puts out more power than stock coils and splitfires.

I have since tidied up since this photo was taken
Ill have to add much more info to here, but im after an inexpensive coil setup, because i cannot pay $500 for a set of coils which i don't think even worth it!

I've been looking to do this for a long time, well before I even knew someone had done it before. I also plan on running my FD on LS2 coils as well. They are cheap, plentiful and probably the best stock coils available. Not exactly sure why GM made such a heavy duty coil for a simple truck engine, but I'm glad they did.

We just need someone on here or another board to make a simple plug and play harness for those of us that are wiring illiterate

Anton, those are good findings. I'd have them mounted this way if my dry sump plumbing was not in the way.

    Here is some cool examples:
