^ x2....100% your brake fluid needs topping off.

Change your brake pads unless you have a puddle in your driveway. That fluid has to be going somewhere. Don't just top it up.

my pads still have plenty of meat left in them, but ill keep an eye out for puddles but i regularly park at certain spots and im always keen on checking if i leave puddles around.

but come to think of it, i did have my 300's brake master cylinder let go and that hand brake light was basically on the whole time and it went through brake fluids very fast, hopefully its not the case this time

Don't forget rotors. With ceramic pads the rotors are the ones that tend to get eaten up.

you should never have to top up brake fluid unless you're flushing/ bleeding the system, if there are no leaks and your fluid is low, its indicating that your brake pads are wearing out, provided that you filled the brake fluid to the full line when you did the brakes.

you never top up fluid with used pads because when you go to compress the pistons when putting new pads in, the reservoir in the bmc will over fill and brakefluid will spill every where.
