    speedo gone after tranny pull

So i recently (last weekend) finished doing a clutch replacement on my 90 R32 GT-R

Everything works great, the car can actually drive again, installed new exhaust, sounds incredible.

My problem is the Speedometer has stopped working. The Speed sensor and the AWD piston (i believe thats what the part on the back of the xfer case is) were both removed and installed in the same way they they came out. The transfer case was refilled with dextron ATF fluid, and other then that, i cant think of what else to mention.

Im curious if the pinion on the speed sensor is not meeting up properly after installation? Should the whole speed sensor have not been removed, and the cable simply detached from it? And curious if a regular transmission shop would be able to fix it if no parts needed to be ordered in from over-seas etc?

    Thanks for the help!

It's possible that the cable or the tip broke after being pulled/reinstalled. They tend to get a little brittle after 15+ years. Other than that, it's possible it wasn't installed correctly and just isn't making contact?

Ya, after googling the problem I found quiteba few threads suggesting it might be the speedo cable. My only problem will be getting a hold of one now, as no where I know of in Alberta carries anything for the car.

Just post a wtb ad in the forum. Ordering parts and get parts shipped to you is super easy. I have shipped out tons of parts big and small and many people have done the same for me.
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!
