    GTR belt problem.

So i was driving my r32 down the road, went to shift into 4th or 5th and I hear a super loud belt squeel and my car dies. Power steering went out and such so I coasted into a parking lot. Tried to start it again and it starts then stalls out. Got it towed home and left it over night. Then started it up and it runs for a bit with an annoyingly loud belt squeel then stalls out. The belt looks to be the air con compressor built. (wheels are turning but belt isnt). It looks like my compressor is seized? If I have the right belt in mind I understand it as I could just remove it or cut it off. ( I really dont care if I have a/c). But does the compressor being seized make sense? I dont see why it would make the car stall out or not run though.

On my 03 lancer, I put to much A/C refrigerant in the system so it would stall the compressor because there was so much coolant. When this would happen, the engine would almost stall. So yes it is very possible.

I've had the exact same thing happen to me earlier this year. The compressor seized, causing a chain reaction where the serpentine belt snapped, causing my car to stall. A/C belt was disconnected, serpentine belt replaced, and all was good. A/C belt is the one you've circled in blue.
