    Help, no sound from radio!

I just bought a new headunit for my R33 GTR and picked up a nissan wiring harness from crappy tire. I got everything hooked up, the headunit turned on and power was sent to the antenna but I had no sound. I looked things over and found that there was now connection to the amplifier.

On the left is the nissan wiring harness connector that I got from crappy tire, it is hooked to the headunit, note the two pins on top and four on bottom. On the right is the connector that goes to the rear speakers and amp, this only has four "slots" for pins, one top left and three on bottom, there are no slots for pins on the right.

This shows the back of the crappy tire connector, the two purple and two green are for the rear speakers. These match up with the four slots on the other connector. The the blue wire with the white stripe is supposed to go to the amplifier, the black wire with the white stripe is a ground, both of these go into the empty space on the right of the other connector.

Finally this is the back of the other connector that goes to the rear speakers and amplifier. Anyone know which of these wires goes to the amp? What does each wire got to?

So I have no connection to the amp therefore no sound. I need to determine what each wire is for on the connector pictured above then try to find something to match it to plug into the headunit. If I haven't confused you and you can help me figure this out that would be great.

There is another connector that supplies the power to the headunit, connects the antenna and connects to the front speakers. Everything on this connector match's up with a slot in its the female connector.

Hey thanks for the those pics. It would be nice to know what each wire on there is for, like which ones are speaker and which is the amp?

Anyway I decided to look at the amp in the trunk, while I was looking I noticed that the aftermarket rear speakers were not even connected DUH!! The wires for the stock speakers were there but the connectors were wrong for the aftermarket speakers, so I changed the ends on them wires and hooked up the speakers. IT WORKED!! I now have sound at the rear speakers, I still have to look into getting the front working.

I guess I was wrong about the connection to the amplifier being the problem. I would still like to figure out what each of the four wires are on the OEM connector. For now im just glad to have some sound!!

Normally, I use the harnesses for deck power and illumination only, easier than hacking the factory harness and wire chasing. I bypass factory and run new higher grade wires and aftermarket speakers.

Dude the blue ones is the wire from remote amp turn on.. if you do not have amp you don't really need to use it.

    If I remember correctly:

Purple black stripe (-) = rear right speakers
Green with black stripe (-) = left rear speakers

Purple (+) = front right speakers
Green (+) = Front left speakers

Or you can refer to your install doctor post (1995 and newer Nissans)

For black ground cable, what I did on my is soldered from both harness and mount it to where my transmission screw is. You will have to sand the plate a bit to get better ground
