Accidentally put 50/50 Royal purple MAX ATF and 15W40 into transfer case

Doing all of the fluids on my 1990 GTR. It was getting dark and someone was helping me out when I was under the car with the pump and hoses.

Anways, long story short first bottle I was passed was MAX ATF, second bottle was 15w40, I had one left over and they look exactly the same. We were both tired and completely missed it until I finished pumping it in.

I removed the fill hole and the drain and decided to leave it up on the jack stands to drain over night. Will get some more MAX ATF tomorrow to go for round two.

My question is it sufficient to just drain it overnight or should I use something like a mineral solvent to flush it out?

    Thanks!

I noticed that the two bottles that were brought over to where I was under the car were not the same before I even managed to put the fill hole plug back in.

It has drained over night now and I will put the MAX ATF in today.

Was worried that they were different pH wise and didn't want to end up with some mineral salts and water in there over time.

Don't put any type of solvent to flush out the motor oil other wise you'll probably need a new transfer case in the future. I would put a liter or more ATF in the transfer case first, then open the drain plug and add another liter of ATF with no plug to flush out out any motor oil left (if any).

it will be fine but if you have time let it drain for another day. but its no big deal. its not like your car ran with it.

Drained it for 24 hours, put in a bit of the ATF and drained it again, so its just ATF in there.

Thanks for the heads up about the solvents!

    Thanks everyone for the replies!
