just wondering if anyone has had to tap their oil drain hole? mine is starting to look like pooh and is leaking due to previous owner. looking for numbers mainly. like drill bit size tap size.![]()

just for a temp fix try useing teflon tape or check the plug for the o ring or washer.
just to get you back on the road and so your not leaking oil on you driveway

i was thinking about using teflon tape. i just dont want to mess up the threads any more then they are

it won't distort the threads anymore than they are, just provides a seal for the threads. I would use teflon tape for the time being, But find a tap to match the drain plug, if the threads are too far gone or worn away you will have to re-tap it to the next size up and get a new drainplug.

just use this as a band-aid to limp around on till you can research the tap size or get a new/used oild pan. teflon tape is so thin it wont mess up the threads any more then they are
