    Oil Leakk =( Need a part number/name.

I Have a small oil leak coming from a bolt on the valve cover. Was wondering what you guys think it might be. Is it just a seal or o ring inside? Unbolt, replace, bolt back on? Or will it be more difficult then that? Its my DD and I work everyday so Im trying not to take it apart to see what I need to replace it, but If thats what needs to happen it can be done. Starting to get anoyed of the burnt oil smell slowly dripping onto my downpipe -.-.

    Thanks for your help

Probably just the grommet for that bolt, you can get them from nismoparts.com as part of the engine gasket kit, not sure where you would get just the grommets, could try getting them thru your local Nissan dealer, just have to get the part # off FAST. Other possibility is the cam cover gasket is leaking there, you can get single gaskets for $20 from FRsport.

Not the grommet as its not what provides the seal. Valve cover gaskets are available from your local dealer. Should replace the 1/2 moon seals while there. If you want to replace your grommets (recommended) get them through RAW Brokerage. By far the best price for them.
Have you tried just tightening all the cam cover screws?

I haven't tried tightening the cam cover screws no, just the valve cover bolt that is leaking as it was pretty loose but I didnt want to over tighten it. I may end up just taking the car to the shop that built it to fix it, although if the dealer were to have the valve cover gaskets I doubt it would be very hard to fix.

ruber grommets get squished over time with heat, re tighten down and see if it helps it barely needs any torque at all

the gasket are 90% of the time reusable take your cover out clean the gasket and valve cover, apply a super tiny layer of gasket maker if you wanan be safe and re assemble everything

First of all, the bolt there does not look like the correct Screw. Please replace it with a correct OEM screw first, since the OEM screw has a spacer built in.

buy valve cover gaskets from nissan or sponsors....the grommets x20 are expensive at dealerships..$7each

grommets are like a cushion but does not seal from oil, you can retighten in time but the oem screws will bottom out and stop.......only the valve cover gasket seals oil....and you need x2 half moon seals at the back of valve covers as well..

300zx pathfinders uses same grommets but only 16 per set...

you can get the grommets at worldpac locally and use the oem part#...they sell individually
