    Nismo Steel Braided Clutch Hose Installation and Seperation Pipe

    Found the missing banjo bolt at a local fluid specialty shop, so this Nismo line should go in fine now. The hose RHDJapan sent does not look like the one in their picture or the one on my car, but the banjo bolt will make this work. Took 6 hours of calling and driving to find a shop locally that had the metric banjo bolt in stock. Ended up buying one for $13 at a fluid specialty shop.

    Also, can this thing be deleted?

    The seperation pipe delete bits in this clutch kit just eliminate the loop off that box I have pictured above. I was thinking about having a custom clutch hose the completely deletes that box. Just connect the MC feed hard line to the SC direct. Has anyone done this before?

    I'll ask another about the box, does anyone know what that actually does? I have seen it called the separation pipe, the dampening pipe/box. No idea what it does and if its possible to delete with a custom clutch line.

    you can delete it, the box is to make the clutch pedal feel smooth and dampened (hence its name)
    My Ctrl button has the 'C' scratched off it.

    Why would you want to remove it?

    Just trying to understand what that will do.

    Well the Nismo steel braided hose kit has a seperation pipe deletion bit. I installed the Nismo steel braided hose and the "U-pipe eliminator adapter" that was incluided with the kit, which is what deletes the seperation pipe that attaches to the dampening box (DB) I posted a picture of.

    The way the clutch was hooked up was:

    MC -> DB -> seperation pipe loop -> back to DB -> SC

    Now after the Nismo kit is in the clutch is:

    MC -> DB -> SC

    A custom line off the hard line from the MC direct to the SC would lose that rusty DB and a few more lines and fittings that go with them which are all places of potential leaks. This would be the point:

    MC -> SC (using mix of hard and soft hose/steel braided hose)

    I just had no idea if that DB thing did anything besides have that seperation pipe loop off it. Seems pointless and just adds weight and a bit of complexity.

    I had a leak in the system so that is why I picked up the Nismo hose kit. I also had the clutch engage right at the very bottom when I fully pressed the pedal. I read that the seperation pipe deletion can address this, was thinking that the full delete of the DB might make it even better. In any case I just got the parts in and the system blead and have not had a chance to take the car out to see how it is now. I'll post an update once I have a chance to get out.
