89 gtr not iding

just got it, car starts and drives fine but will not hold an idile, havnt really tested it as much, but it will hold an idil for about 30 seconds and then dies, need ideas of how to fix problem, plz be in depth as i am new to these cars so short form does not really help, any ideas would be great any questions will answer when i c it thx

Hey,
Some areas to go over would be the following:

- IACV (Idle Air Control Valve - located on the manifold)
- Spark Plugs (Replacing them is always a good idea)
- Fuel System (Fuel Starvation is not fun)
- Potential Vacuum leak somewhere, go over your lines

wat are mafs??? ive been reading about them on the forum and thanks MK i will go over that stuff today, can someone just explain wat the mafs is i think its mass air flow sensor ?? idk, picking up the car today i live in hamilton know ne one i could take the car to, to get checked over or will a nissan dealer be suffice.

MAFs are mass air flow sensors, they are attached to the stock air box, or aftermarket air filters if you have those.

check the afm's solders and clean them with CRC

hey guys i want the thank all of u for your help, mattias came over and brought his mafs and the car runs great, just need to find 1 new one but if its a good deal and want to only sell both ill buy them let me know ill prob post another thread but if u see this pm me thx again guys youve all been a really big help
