    Engine sound... Rod Knock possibly?

So I hadnt really driven my car from about half way through july of 2010 till sept. 2011. just a few little drives around the block. Anyways so i i finally throw a plate on it and after about 10 mins of idling i notice it sounds different and runs odd so i popped the hood and when listening close you can hear a knock. its best heard close to the engine bay behind the turbos. im assuming its Rod knock but ill post up a video. hard to hear but if u listen close you can. i took it for a drive and it dosnt seem to have the same power but still runs good, gauges all seem good. im sure the drive wasnt the best of ideas.

The second video is alittle easier to hear it

    thanks

yeah its pretty faint. my buddys said they couldnt even hear it when i first noticed it. i havnt heard it for a few months now but im pretty sure when u rev it up it goes away after about 1300 rpm or so then sounds fine. but like i said it didnt have the pull even when driving semi normal. it is supposed to get up to +8 here in regina today tho. maybe ill start her up and give it a good listen and make a new video with reving it up a bit

Here is a simple check. Unplug the injectors one by one, if it is rod knock, then the sound should despair once the load is taken off that cylinder.

Furthermore, normally, the knocking sound will go up if you rev your engine.

alright well i uploaded a few more videos. dosnt really seem to get any worse and i cant really hear it when i rev it up. the video where it starts behind the turbos again was after around 5 min warm up and the other two were after about 10. the new ones all have alittle rev action. strange thing was i couldnt hear the noise after awhile, and after i shut it off and let it sit for 15 min or so i started it back up and it made the noise for like 10-15 seconds then sounds fine... i didnt unplug the injectors yet. stupid question im sure but i pull one off start the car then turn off the car and pull the next one right? dont do it while its running i assume?

    thanks guys

also when idling for a bit it now will go from 900 to 1100rpm for a bit then go back down... never used to do that

You can just pull the wire plug on the injector while the engine is running.
