good video. for once, a "real" documentary not a biased film that only shows the makers point of view. It's embarrassing to see how little our "leaders" know about money.

very interesting. great find.
but this doesn't just come from canada.... it happens in most countries with debt.
I wanted to hear more about our foreign debt... because it's even worse than getting loans from our private banks... so why are we getting foreign loans if we have private banks that can issue out any money that they want without actually having it via the bank act?

I'm terrible at explaining these things, so please don't quote me on this.

From what I understand Foreign debt is money owed to another country in the form of loans and or negative balance of trade. Negative balance of trade is basically exports - imports. Say country exports 30billion - imports 80 billion, the result is -50 billion (Foreign debt).

Canada is supposedly becoming a Consumer society which imports products, instead of a productive exporting society that makes products, due to it's cheaper to import the same product than to make it locally, as shown in this videoclip below (happening in alot of country's like US, UK, etc) -

What makes it worse, is people don't save anymore, which adds money to local banks. People spend and consume and when they don't have enough money, get loans from banks to spend and consume more (houses, cars, etc). When local banks run out of local money due to less savers, more borrowers / spenders, they borrow money from overseas banks, which adds to the Foreign debt (loans).

Where some of the world's money is coming from, is country's like China that have people that save, don't spend much.
