Dark Day In Motorsports :(

i havnt seen anyone post about this yet but Dan Wheldon and Rick Huseman both died today.
Dan Wheldon died during the indy car race where there was a 15 car pile up. he died do to his injuries.

Two great drivers died in the same day. Truly a sad day in motorsports

Saw the bit about Dan Wheldon on tsn, thats brutal...I feel really bad for his family, he had a wife and 2 kids.

brutal incident. Its to bad , will deffinately change IndyCar racing such as Earhardts death changed NSACAR guarantee it

Wheldon's crash was pretty shocking, really sad day. Reminds me of Greg Moore's crash, too sad to watch again.

The onboard footage reminded me of Senna's crash. I've seen drivers walk away from a way more violent of a crash, but when I saw the right front wheel swing up out of the flames and the camera feed go fuzzy, I just cringed.

Open wheeles and cockpits are a dangerous combo. While the cars are safe running straight into a wall or rolling, there's no protection from the "fluke" accidents of something coming into contact with the drivers head.

This tragic month continues with the death of MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli. If you do look up the crash on Youtube, I will warn you it is even more terrifying than the Indy crash.
