    child abduction

    I can't HTML link

I am blown away right now!
    1) I graduated only a few years before this girl. When she gave her valedictorian speech in my brothers graduation class, I doubt the figured her life would turn out this way :P

    2) How does one find a way to obtain a job for the provincial government on false information, and a fake name?! Isn't there some sort of background checks in place to prevent this sort of thing??

    3) I love how the mothers lawyer stated she is of no "flight risk", based on how they will fight this "tooth and nail". Correct me if I'm wrong, but she flew the coop with her daughter 18 years ago, and had roughly 6,500 days to turn her self in... I would say she is the perfect example of a flight risk!

Crazy story. One of these "reality is crazier than a movie" incidents.
I wonder what it mist have been like to be on the run, so to speak all these years. Obviously mom raised the girl right given her accomplishments (athlete, valedictorian).

    Raised her right, indeed.
Although can you imagine what is going through the poor girls head? She has been essentially been living a lie the past 18 years... I'm not very sure what her home life was like, but can you imagine if she had a father figure she grew up knowing as "dad"? man, so many questions!

This has to rank up in the top 10 of longest running abduction cases.... No pun intended.
