Haha, I didn't realize there were such hardcore ghettos in Canada. I don't know much about low riders but they seem like cool rides.
There is a guy in my town (in Japan) that has a stretched Cadillac limo lowrider.
He wears bandanas and stuff, and often "rolls" around town. He jacks the car up at weird angles at red lights, and all the Japanese people point and laugh like "haha, look at the loser in his busted American car". I don't think they get it at all, they just think his car is broken. And it may well just be.

There is a low rider magazine over here, there are some seriously sweet cars in there. The style is a bit Japanese, but based on the US scene.
I think the guy from Cypress Hill, who is into low riders, once said something like "If your s*&t doesn't scrape, it ain't low enough"

I saw a Honda lowrider on a motorway at weird angles.
History of Lowrider name -
http://www.trickedoutride.net/The-Hi...Lowriders.html
It seems Lowrider cars are a status symbol, just like a horse in Mexico (ritual called paseo), which is supposedly where the name Lowrider name came from. It explains why rap stars, etc use Lowriders in music video's (status symbol).
The whole point of a lowrider car is to attract attention.
