    RB20<>RB25?

    I recenlty imported a completely stock GTS-t with 88,000 km on it.
    My question is should i swap in a rb25 or keep the rb20 and modify it?
    Im looking for around 280-300 reliable whp, opinions please.

    if your looking for that kind of power the rb20 will be just fine for you, if you were looking for more power than that, like 350+ the rb25 would be worthwile, but IMO you would be wasting your money on the swap when you can get that out of your rb20

    thats what im going for, the reliable 300whp or a bit more, its very "reachable" power range preatty easy to get there but if your giong like 400whp range, get the rb25, much safer! or bore and stroke to 2.4

    or that! but at 2.2 does it really make that much of a diference! how much power does it give you? hp and tq gains? and anyway will increasing the size really let you go get more power safely?

    There is no replacement for displacement. With RB25 you will have a way wider power bend compare to RB20. Therefore when both engine are tuned to 280-300whp. The RB25 will still leave the RB20 in the dust.

    rb25 $3000+ still not at 300whp

    rb20 comes with car, $3000 into it, wow 300-350whp.

    RB20 = 400hp
    RB25Neo = 450-600hp
    RB26 = 600+

    Dont spend the money on a non Neo RB25
    They are a better motor and it is easier in a lot of cases to reach 500-550 than even the RB26

    Spending 4-5k on a good 25 swap for 350 hp is silly.

    Mod your RB20
    300WHP is pretty easy to get

    I'd really like to get my rb20 bored to 2.2l port/polish, balance and I want to put a twin turbo kit on it. I'm making more money now so I've got a bit of disposible income. I know this will probably run around 8k to do all of this. I want to build up an RB20 and make it as responsive as possible. Anyone have a guess how this setup would perform?

    Anyone check out that MINES GTR? They focused on response and didnt' even bore out the cylinders. The thing was crazy fast...It didn't even have a vtec badge on it :O
