Fortunately I was the Second owner of my car in Canada.
But I would take up your problems with your importer. If they told you the car was in good condition, etc, they were obviously not truthful with you.

I am buds with the guy you bought your car through, I know he definitely would not lie to you. But yes, best thing is is to take it up with him first.

said it was fine now its broken(him shippers and nissan has been in my car more then me) ... so unless little trolls at the yard ****** with it... it was this broken at time of sale.. his word exactly are

    Mechanical

The gas strut on the trunk are dead... I hate these...

It is low kms so there is really nothing wrong here.

The intake makes a very loud sound when driving fast. You can hear the turbo spool and pshhhh!

    The clutch is really good.

The engine idles consistently and starts every time with no fuss.

I have not done tuneup parts like plugs and wires.

The tranny could use some new gear oil in it but what 15 year old car doesn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t. It is a touch notchy going into third but in my experience the syncho has much life. When I drive, I have to be careless to shift in a way that I notice anything at all. I am probably just being picky.

The electric fan makes a weird chirping noise when turning off... ??? WD40?

    low km nothing wrong (false)
    clutch really good (false)
    engine smooth and no fuss(false)
yes the car looks nice... minus dents(i was fine with this it 15 yrs old)

but a rebuild on the top end and new clutch is far from what the ad represents the car as.

and derek has been in communication with me ...
my volvo 850 is 16yrs old and has 338,000km and needs a rebuild top end now so...63,000km----338,000km
i know what too expect from a 16 yr old car it all ive ever driven

any 16 yr car sold in canada with that ad and needing a rebuild when delivered to the buyer

what do you think would happen

I knewi would need to maintain it and replace worn parts over next 20,000 or so
not overhaul at the door step! big difference

    so....

Most of the time it's lack of maintenance, thrashing engine or modding engine incorrectly
a post in reply to my compression test

    ad states well- maintained vehicle.....
but obviously its not plus derek seems excited about it in july and september its for sale
sounds like the touge trip damaged it and he tried to sell so he didnt have to repair....
all repair on iit was cosmetic so it didnt look beat

if that not shining **** i dont know what is!

My car was similar to that when I bought it (I knew it had been thrashed by dealer). Replaced alot of stuff due to thrashing, like rack ends, bushes, driveshaft's x 3 (common failure part when thrashed), diffhead, turbo (lack of engine oilcooler when thrashing caused it to fail), etc. Also found out you have to treat it like a racecar in terms of servicing when thrashing it (change oil before and after trackdays). Factory recommended service schedule doesn't work on modified car.

Also you can get clutches that are hard on gearbox, shorten gearbox longevity. But most gearbox problems are normal wear and tear and maintenance problem (can buy refresh kits). Can use Redline oil, as it sticks to parts, quietens things down. Most use Castrol? product, as recommended by gearbox specialist's and I think used by Nissan dealerships downunder.

Turbo wail around 0 on boost gauge (compressor wheel touching compressor housing) should make you instantly think it had been thrashed or had hot shutdown (high oiltemps, lack of engine oilcooler). Or has a airleak in intake piping.

Sounds like airleak on intake pipe that goes over top of engine (had a similar airleak, that's where I found it). Any airleak after turbo can create a whistling sound. If tighten intake hose clamps and still there, look for cracks in joiners. If not that, then turbo.

If you pull intake pipe off turbo, wiggle compressor wheel, shouldn't be much play (little bit of play is normal) and not touch compressor housing. On turbo, if oil is leaking from under compressor housing and oil deposits on bottom / inside of intakepiping after turbo, then front oilseal on turbo has failed due to off balance compressor wheel. The oil gets into intercooler core, idle valves, around throttlebody plate, etc, so need to be cleaned after replacing turbo, if it is that.
