N1 water pump failure?

Hey so last night took my car for a drive, revved it up to 6000 and bang! Car died. Get out and there is steam pouring out of the hood. Open the hood, and my brand new N1 water pump blew up into 20 pieces. I'll post up a picture when I get home. Anyone hear of N1 water pumps exploding? It maybe had 300km on it tops. I bought it from RHDJapan, so it's legit N1. any thoughts?

Manufacturing defect maybe? or something weird in you coolant?

Nothing weird in my collant. I did a full crazy rebuild on the car, so I know the cooling system was clean and new. I'm thinking manufacturing fault, it's just the break is very clean. No stress fractures, bubbles, particulate matter. It looks like my car had enough torque to rip the neck right off the pump. It's weird, none of the mechanics I work with have ever seen a failure like this. So really just wondering if anyone has ever seen a failure like this?
