What exactly is the difference between the stock 20det water pump and the N1? im about to replace mine so i would like to know what that extra 200 bones is gonna get me.
is the N1 basically just a oem GTR pump?
What does the N1 stand for?
thanks!

N1 = Group-N (with R33, R34 = GT?) endurance racing. Usually 24hour racing, like Nurburgring 24hour race for example, where GTR used to race.
N1 waterpump has bigger, less blades to stop cavitation (creation of air bubbles) at higher rpm's and is used on racecars. Air bubbles can make engine overheat and is why you bleed cooling system when refilling with new coolant / water mix.
Stock waterpump has smaller, more blades to provide better flow of water at idle speeds.

Most use stock waterpump for road use, including Nismo. But have seen some use N1 waterpump on road cars, but mainly on Targa Rally, etc (competition) GTR. Or GTS, GTR engines that are going to be used on racetrack (trackdays).

If youre spending 200 bucks more for n1, youre being ripped off. I paid under 200 total. Pm me if youre needing more reasonable prices for oem and n1 parts
