    Anyone playing with nitrous?

Until I get the funds to build my motor the whole nine yards, to hold me over I decided to go with a Nitrous Express wet kit in my very mildly modified '90 rb20det running off the throttle using the 55hp nozzle and Zex plugs. I've taken the precaution of adding a nitrous cut if 12 psi of boost is reached. Now im thinking of swapping out the 55 shot for the 75 ...

Can anyone shed some light on the situation? Will i be ok?

You will love it, you don't need to up it 75hp though, 55hp will give you a nice boot in the pants. The best thing about it is the intercooling that you will get from it. You could run 5psi more boost than before with it just from the extra cooling that you will get. Nitrous is colder than Propane when it evaporates.

You really need to make sure that you have enough pump to run it though. Leaning out on boost is bad enough, on happy gas+boost things go boom pretty quick with little warning. You will hear a little rattle and blow a hole in a piston or fry a ringland before you can back off. The Zex plugs are good, but the Autolite AR3923 race plugs are better, colder and the ground strap is thicker.

I'm not really a fan of nitrous in street cars, something about having to refill a bottle rubs me the wrong way. But if you insist, make sure your fuel pump is up to the task.

get a good pump! i ran too much boost for the pump and leaned out... cost less for a new motor than a valve job for me

Not on a 55hp setting, you should be able to get 20 to 25 runs out of a 10lb bottle. A 2 stage 400hp shot will give you about 3 runs if you are lucky. There would still be iquid NO2 left but the less liquid you have the faster the pressure drop over the course of the run and that would make it really fat at the end (racers are both sponsored and anal).

If you really want to make it last you should have the trigger on a button on the steering wheel or on the shifter and just burp it whenever you want a little kick. Let avail. traction and nerve be your guide instead of being tied in to WOT for it to kick in (harder to regulate).

Once you get over the whole "I'VE GOT EFFING NOSS, YO!!!" you will most likely find that a bottle will last you about a month on 55hp.

Water/Meth would compliment it and vice/versa.

My question is why? Cheap power for the time being... I will never use it unless I have an old muscle car meant for the drags! With the money you spent on the kit you could have gone with a larger turbo and that would have given you 55hp all day! Nos is just either some cheap thrills or something to brag about.
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

No way in hell, could you upgrade to a big turbo set up for the same price as a simple nitrous kit! thats absurd.
