its not worth it imo. Buy a diff if you want to rev a bit lower.

its expensive. r34 getrag 6spds are usually in the ballpark of 3k, then you need an R34 clutch, custom driveshaft...the list goes on. theres a writeup on GTRPWR, I asked this question last summer and someone whos done it replied.

Im doing this in a gtr shortly

Changing overall wheel size, diffhead ratio (to 4.1 in Nismo? mechanical diffhead), 5th gear ratio can affect top speed, rpm where rpm needle sits at on motorway.

Could fit a 6 speed S15 gearbox, but ratio's are designed for SR20DET, not RB20DET. Also there's upgraded Nismo internals for S15 6 speed.

I've seen someone that's done the S14 gearbox conversion on R32, shifter didn't line up in middle of hole for gearstick in driveshaft tunnel. More towards the front of hole from memory, needed some trimming of hole. A spacer plate between bellhousing, engine might give enough clearance for shifter.

Also I think it was Greedy / Trust that had a 5speed to 6 speed conversion kit for 5 speed GTR gearbox. But from memory, can make it harder to shift in 6th?.

can't something like an electronic external overdrive be welded to the transmission tailshaft like the muscle car guys do? That way when your in 5th gear flick a switch and bang your in a 6th gear? Then just custom length driveshaft and your laughing

make a bell housing adaptor and you can run different transmission.
