    S13 Non-Hicas Subframe Swap

I was looking through the site and saw nothing specific on this.

This is the setup I hope to run next year. My only question is when using s13 uprights will the GTS-T backing plates/calipers bolt up to these uprights without any modifications, much like the s13-z32 5 lug/z brake swap?

I'm hoping for C-Unit to chime in as he's done this before.

why would you want to use the S13 uprights? they are cast iron and heavy as hell.... if you're going through all the trouble, just use Z32/ GTR aluminum ones, the Z32's come in non hicas versions, and the GTR ones you can get the ball joint pressed out and get a poly bushing kit for a non hicas Z32 upright and change all the bushings while you're at it.

but as for your original question, yes, the S13 stuff will bolt right in without modification

The S13 non hicas subframe will bolt on to your GTST. The S13 Upright will also bolt on to your current brake set up. You'll have to transfer your ebrake + hubs to the S13 upright.

If you have a choice, I would go with the GTR aluminum knuckles. They are half of the weight of the iron one. You will have to press the toe arm ball joint out and replace it with a bushing. You'll also need a hook type mounting for your coilover.

So the answer is yes, everything is a direct bolt on. ( I am assuming you have a GTS-t, not a GTR or GTS4)

Thanks for the help! I am using s13 as it's more readily available, and did not know all you had to do was press out the hicas ball joint and put in a new bushing. I just wanted to confirm before I went ahead.

if you swap to the Z32/GTR32 uprights, how do you make the HCR32 strut interface fit?
My Ctrl button has the 'C' scratched off it.

Don't swap the gtst knuckles for anything else. just press the hicas balljoint out and toss a non-hicas bushing in it's place. simple, done.

The non hicas S13 energy suspension bushing is the same size as the HICAS ball joint? I have new bushings already, that is why I ask. If I 100% can keep the GTS-T uprights, I too would prefer that but due to time constraints it's not worth it for me to locate non HICAS parts.

the hicas ball joint is slightly bigger than the non-hicas bushing. You might be able to secure it with some locktite.

When I press my spherical bearings in, the toe one was abit lose.

you either by the z32 cup or custom make a hook set up. (I don't suggest welded to your current coilover though)

Yea, it's fine. I did the conversion years ago.
