the string goes across to hold maps/papers etc should attach somewhere on the other side, no idea what the white thing is
or if its part of that
understeer -is when you go off the road and see the tree that kills you
oversteer-is when you go off the road backwards and dont see the tree that kills you
pretty sure the white thing is supposed to have a string attached to it and like it spring loaded so when you open the glove box it slowly comes down

Yeah the black string connects to the first piece and then that small string connect from the spring thing to the smaller white piece.
No way! Spring Loaded! Time to fix my glovebox.
I too have the black string thats limp but still in correct place. I figured it was a paper holder/retainer.
Anyone have a working spring loaded opening R32 glove box?
