    Insurance Question

Hi i just got an email from my insurance company asking for the list price of my skyline. I don't know if they want the purchase price or the market value. They have never asked me this before with and of my other RHD. Does anybody know what i should tell them.

    Heres the E-Mail
"Dominion has advised that due to the serial number of this vehicle - We have to price rate it, as there are no specific rate groups for it. Could you please advise me of the list price for the vehicle?"

    The Car is a 1989 Skyline GTS-T

I told mine the purchase price, that way if anything happened Id get some what close to that back. Not sure if that was the best thing to do or not tho.

It would probably be on the appraised value of your car. Most insurance companies require an appraisal since there is no listed market value for the Skylines.

I dont see whats to hard about adding a car to the data base. They should have all models of every make.

I just told them the purchase price and they haven't said anything has gone wrong yet so hopefully thats all they want. I know about some of you guys who have had a really really hard time with insurance but this is the hardest time Ive had with getting insurance.

When i was with State Farm and had my Toyota Soarer and my Nissan 300ZX only things they wanted were picture of the front left side of the car, the rear right side of the car, bill of sale and you were insured no more questions asked. With Dominion they asked for a safety, pictures, price, years in Canada, importation papers, and proof of the VIN because she said the VIN was too short when i already told he its a serial number and its not a Canadian car.

Has anyone else gone through all of that in Alberta because before i thought Alberta was the easiest for insurance and they didn't make us jump through all the hoops like other Canadian provinces?

I never had any problems having it insured. However when it was imported they must have had to put it into a NA car category as it was labelled a '88 Nissan stanza until I had it appraised. It now says '89 Skyline GTS-T. Funny thing is that when my buddy owned it he had it on his dads policy as a Skyline, but when I insured it with the same company it was a stanza all of a sudden.
