    getting new engine

So i am working on getting a new engine for my 1990 GTS-T, i have heard not to go to the RB26DETT because of how little space it leaves in the engine bay and because im simply RWD not AWD so, I have been looking into a RB25DET but im not sure what all i am going to need to do this. I have found one with the following:

COMPLETE ENGINE, 5SPEED TRANSMISSION, TURBO, WIRING, ECU, ALTERNATOR, AC COMPRESSOR, INTAKE MANIFOLD, EXHAUST MANIFOLD, TURBO MANIFOLD, THROTTLE BODY, INJECTORS, COILS, IGNITOR

So i am wondering, is there anythign else i am going to need to do this, like engine mounts maybe? or is everything listed above everything i am going to need to do a swap from RB20DET to a RB25DET.

    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

The RB20Det is a very strong engine and can make good power. I thank you should spend the money on it. My rb20 made 403hp at the wheels in a r31.

Talk to Keith on here about the 25 swap, he just did it and can probly advise you on weather or not you should do it / how to do it... Ps don't buy from Toronto jdm (total jdm) cause when they drop your motor and ship it out with broken parts they just tell you to f off once you've paid (first hand expierence)

Alright, ill check it out. thanks for the advice guys! Still undecided wether to make the car look nice interior/exterior or to just put the money into performance parts/upgraded parts right now. I am curios about what mods/upgrades you did to the rb20 to get over 400HP. And if i managed to get my RB20 even giving me 300HP wouldnt i need to upgrade the transmission and rear diff?

Also maybe someone knows, im putting new tires on my 17" rims. They are 350z rims (not sure the width, look like this http://www.zcar1.com/id4.html )
Currently the tires are 235/55/R17 Back, 235/50/R17 Front. everytime i hit a small bump in the road my tires rub really badly against the fender. the tire wall is actually getting pretty damaged from the tire getting kind of cut on the inside of the fenders. Anyone know what size of tire i should run with those rims? and should i upgrade my suspension?

    Thanks!

A lot of people don't like the rb20 because of being a 2L but with having a Short stoke and small piston is what makes it so strong.

    I have built up a A few rb20 's. 2 of my own & my mates.
Make a long story short, my second car with the rb20 made over 400hp atw on 30psi with stock internals. My mates r32 made 336hp atw on 24psi with stock internals. The parts needed are 500 to 600cc injectors,a good after market computer. I used a haltech ecu with the haltech coil packs, with the haltech you don't have to use the air flow meter.but you should use a good ecu that is easily tuned in your area. A good fuel pump, and a turbo kit like a t3/t4 turbo, external waste gate, stainless manifold ,front mount intercooler, a pl

Intake plenum and a good clutch. You don't need to buy all jap gear if you are good at fitting and moding your self, I built my mates car 5 years ago and it is still going strong. And a good tuner that won't tune it to lean, that's when you start melting pistons.

One thing I did is get a new head gasket (Nissan STD) and sprayed it both sides lightly with Copper coat. Most people say not to use it but I at one stage when tuning I ran 37psi and never blew a head gasket.

Just on a general note about doing engine swaps, be ready to underestimate just how many parts are needed, even if you think you have everything and it looks like you have everything. It will be easier for your swap - at least they are from the Nissan parts bin. Having done 3 swaps in the past with different engine and chassis manufacturers, you will need patience and a good general purpose parts store nearby. You will get to know the parts counter person. They will get to know you. They may even put you on their Christmas card list.
