Thumbs up Looking into buying a R32, what to look for

Hey guys, im new here, and am looking into buying a R32 for not too much. I realize I wont get the nicest car for what I'm expecting to pay, but something somewhat reliable and decent is attainable. I live in the Lower mainland in BC, and there is quite a few skylines on the road believe it or not. I'm sure a few of you are on here

I currently own a 95 Integra, and while I love it, its just boring, and it needs work, that I really don't feel that I want to put in to, because its just a FWD Honda after all. I've always liked RWD better anyways, and Skylines have always stuck out to me as one of my favorite cars.

What should I look out for when buying a used Skyline, I know that all the papers for the car should be intact and to make sure its title is clear, I'm not really looking into buying one from japan, but one which has been in Canada for a bit.

I'm probably gonna end up with a GTS-T due to my budget, but from what I hear, they are still fairly quick cars anyways. I'm a huge fan of the whole Wheel fitment scene, Hellaflush, Canibeat and Fatlace, and I will be doing the same with my Skyline, while still retaining a little functionality for daily driving.

Thanks for reading, and any advice possible will be greatly appreciated

You should start by doing some searching on the forums before you get flamed, since this question has been asked and answered about 26 000 times.

Once you know what to look for, you may want to check out the cars for sale threads on this forum as well, there are usually a bunch of nice ones for sale.

    Welcome to the boards.

    BTW, http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/rc...419602169.html

That's the car I'm mostly looking at right now. 4900 bucks, but he said I could get it for 4500 without even showing up to look at it, so I'm sure I can knock a few off that as well.

get it certified by someone meticulous.
When I bought my gts-t I bought as is and totally missed:
    rear steering bushing,brakes,tires,horn. money spent.
these are the basics.Compression test 150 or higher
HAVE a second car available. not as reliable as honda's and some parts take 2weeks to arrive.
Hey I love my GTS-t. just to get it going smooth I changed plugs, ignision coils, all vacuum hoses, new fuel pump(Dyno helped me find it was runing lean)

    hope this helps

Clone's right about the certification. Personally I'd recommend looking at a few first before deciding on one. This way you can combine your online research with the sights and sounds that you have experienced in person. Before deciding to get it inspected, be sure to thoroughly inspect the car yourself. Look in the places that the casual observer wouldn't, many things won't be visible on the surface but can be found by a keen eye. Good luck!

Yeah ill be bringing a mechanic, and also my friend whos built several 240s, an AE86 and stuff who knows what hes doing, and the guy claims the car runs fine right now, and that it doesnt need anything, but my mom should be able to let me drive her Wrangler unlimited until its good to go. Its gonna be fun driving my skyline after driving that thing around hahaha.

    Here is a friendly tip.

Skip the whole skyline fad(you will regret wasting your money), and go straight to a car from this country. I sold my gtrs for a Subaru imprezas....best decision I've made.

If you still want one, it's a lost cause, all the gtrs that are here, are beaten and bagged. They all are. Best bet is to get one straight from Japan.
