    Window Regulator!!?!?! HELP

i need a driver side window regulator to pass safety on my 1991 R32 (TWO DOOR). does anyone have ANY suggestions?!?! will a 300zx or a 240sx window regulator work? or will i need to get a different window motor too and cut wires to make the connection fit into the switch? i need help. my car needs this to pass safety here in saskatchewan.

any suggestions would be very helpful. or even a website or a company that makes skyline OEM parts and might have a window regulator kicking around somewhere. thanks..

PS. my skyline also needs a horn for safety. i bought a horn but dont know how to install it lol i tried for an hour hooking it up to the relay but i failed badly and now one of the wires to the relay are no good. could someone give me instructions on how to run a horn from a toggle switch in the cab? thanks again in advance

Which window regulator are your refering to?

The one that sits inside of the door? or the one that sits under the trim by the drivers foot.

If it's the one that sits inside the door, than a 240sx one will work the metal clip needs to be turned around though to make it fit like the skyline one did.

if it's the box from behind the paneling by the drivers foot it will not work from a 240sx. The 240 box will be 3 prong and the skyline clip is 4 prong.

the one in the door. mine is completely destroyed. the regulator spins but the steel wire that goes in between the gears got caught and got ate up really bad. the regulator still moves when i hit the switch up or down. but that steel wire is ripped out now. so my window is actually just sitting at the bottom of my door as we speak

It doesn't hurt to try, when i ripped the door apart at the junk yard on the 240 sx, almost everything looked the same as in our doors. Worst that can happen is ur no further ahead then you are now right?

thanks for the quick replies guys. i really like the concern everyone gives on these forums. i used to have an rx7 and i was on rx7club.com and youd be lucky if you got a response after a week on any issue lol just another reason why my skyline is better than my rx7

my friend has a 240sx project car and he has 2 junk 240s for scrap parts so he is going to sell me the window regulator. im gonna see what i can do with it today wish me luck.

ps. i figured out my horn too. on my inspection sheet from a couple days ago it says "horn not working". so i installed a wicked loud air horn and wired it tough to my horn button on my steering wheel. when i take it back it will make everyone in the shop **** their pants if he pushes the horn button.

i fixed my window regulator. thanks for the advice. i used one out of a 1991 240SX SE model. it was a direct fit except the mounting bolts were like 3mm or 4mm away from getting in the hole. so we peeled the metal on the inside of the door up a bit then the bolt went through and now my window rolls up and down
