I was in the middle of posting a thread on "How To Change Your Window Regulator" and my internet decided to freeze. It was like 20 minutes of typingso instead I'll just post these pictures.. Thanks to everyone who told me a 240SX window regulator might work because it did!
When we took the broken one out, we left it attached to the window, and when we put the new one in, we put the regulator in first and then the window in after and lined it up perfect.
My skyline window regulator is on the left (still attached to the window) and the regulator out of a 1991 240SX SE is on the right. EXACT MATCH?!?! not quite.
We had to bust out a drill because the mounting bolts for the regulator were literally like 3mm from going into the holes that were already in the door for the old one to fit in. (FYI you get lots of bruises on your hands from doing this job)
The drill did not work whatsoever so we had to use some side cutters (cause thats all I had...) to stretch the hole.
New regulator is in and bolted properly, window is in and mounted on the regulator. Time for moment of truth.
it works now
Heres my friend who helped me do this:
what a baller
If anyone ever needs to do this job to their own car, its pretty easy. In fact its alot easier if the window regulator isnt broken, mine snapped so nothing was holding the window up. The whole time doing this job, my friend had to hold the window up while i tried to shimmy the regulator out, not so easy. Also make sure you have a big chunk of cardboard to set your glass down on.
