So after weeks of trying to figure out why the engine was intermittently misfiring, its all of a sudden cleared up and has been running fine for 2 weeks now. Anyways though, i feel its time to start ordering some parts for the engine but am looking for some input from anyone who knows where i can purchase the parts and any recommendations. Anyways here are the parts im looking to get, im not looking for any used parts, all brand new if possible.

Rb20DET

New injectors (higher pressure? would i need higher flow fuel pump as well?)
New coilpacks (yellowjacket or splitfire?)
MAF
TPS
FMIC (have piping, no connectors)
turbo timer (have alarm installed, need something compatible)
New timing belt (it is walking forward and slowly grinding away...)
new idler and tensioner (stop the belt from walking?)
New water pump

And lastly, the car is running lean, top of the pistons looks roughed up. If i replace all the above parts, the engine should not run lean anymore? But am i in need of having the engine bored or honed and new pistons and rings and the head ported and polished? or what should i get done about that?

So if anyone has any input it would be appreciated, im in no rush to get the parts as i am planning on changing them this winter. As for the engine running lean, i am from the cariboo and am not sure of anywhere i could get the work done to the engine, also have no idea of any shop near by that could program the ECU if i go with higher pressure injectors and pump. If anyone can give me a rough estimate of what it will cost for the parts, and out of curiosity, would it be worth it to change all of these parts or would it be better to buy a new engine, like an rb25det and ecu and have that swapped in instead? Thanks!
