    Buyer Beware!

Just a heads up to everyone here, I have recently bought two turbos off this forum and within a week both have blown seals. I have been running stock boost and cannot see any reason why I'm blowing seals other than the fact they were both used. So I guess what I'm trying to say is think long and hard before buying any used turbos off the forum. I'm now out $500+ and have a car that smokes like a bitch, feel sorry for the cars behind me.

Very sorry to hear that OP, a huge loss in terms of money and your time/labor spent to get them in.

On another note, any reason you won't mention who you purchased them from? I'd make sure this doesn't happen to others. Also use the feedback section.

When dealing with bigger/pricier items, I try to buy from sponsors or the forum veterans who have a lot of good feedback.

Hope things shape up for the better!!
    Because race car.

Yep, smokin already. Although I had an epiphany of sorts, checked my oil feed and I do believe it is to blame. I installed a stainless steel oil feed with the rb25 turbo and come to find it has no restrictor. From a little more digging I think my issue is from too much oil hitting the turbo and backing up. Gonna reinstall the OEM feed and see what happens.

MAN sorry to hear about this, this sucks.. Don't give up man! If you want, I know a guy selling a brand new Borg Warner sx300 83-75 for $900.00 with oil feed and drain lines.

Nice, but sadly all my funds went into two bad turbos/oil feed, gonna have to drive like an old lady till I can get my RB25 turbo rebuilt. Was thinking of finding a Holset diesel turbo, supposedly cheap and bullet proof. Was gonna save the big bucks for a new paintjob.

Any idea where he picked it up from? I'm not too sure where to start looking. Sadly this is my daily driver (I know I'm a dumbass), but being an automotive tech helps A LOT keeping it on the road, lol. I just need to get this turbo issue sorted out so I can move on with the rest of the s**t that needs some love.
