    PVC valve on valve cover

    Anyone know if it's safe tonpkuf the PVC valve on the rb25det?

    Hi, phil
    I would not suggest you to block it if you are still on stock turbo.

    PCV releases crankcase pressure and create a little vacuum when the engine is under vacuum, which prevents oil leaking out of turbo. Normally at that time (ie. idling) old turbo does not provide adequate sealing since the shaft does not spin fast enough. Once the engine is under pressure, the PCV closes itself anyway.

    Why would anyone block it off? It serves an important job...

    People usually (although illegal) let them vent freely to atmosphere.

    I wouldn't block it off regardless of what turbo you run LOL.

    POSITIVE pressure from the crankcase, you don't want your dipstick (or other oil seals) to be the "release" for this pressure.
    My Ctrl button has the 'C' scratched off it.
