Cefiro's suck build up. 56k go away.

I'm not huge on doing write ups, but i figured i'd finally share with the masses what i've been up to. Perhaps give you some idea's or some inspiration. I have really skimmed and left a lot of **** out so if you're confused or have some questions msg me and i'll try to get to you in a reasonable time.

    here's a **** load of pic's and a small write up

I bought the car a few summers ago from Gabe of japanese imports, before it was a shop. It had it's problems, but was pretty reliable...for 3000km

Never being able to leave anything alone, when my turbo popped, i replaced it with what was supposed to be a bolt on affair....tobad i didn't know the difference and nobody else did between north american and aus spec z31 turbo's.

All the crap was removed and thrown in a box...later sold to some stupid son240 kid wanting to build a kat.

Now the turbo failure was actually a blessing as i found out it had some potential for extremely good numbers with some modifications. I have since done these, but have no pictures.

The main draw back to the z31 turbo (pre 87) is is has the wastegate flapper in a cast turbo elbow. I Decided at this point that i wanted to divorce the exhaust/wastegate flow. So i cut the cast pipe and welded a piece of cast in to divide the flow. This works 100% without leaks, which means no annoying typical crappy screamer noises all the time.

The turbo in it's original form

modified output (pay attention to the flapper)

To take advantage of this i made a downpipe with a divorced wastegate tube.

While this was all going on, i had the great idea to change the injectors and intake plenum. I got a sweet deal from Will on the plenum, and was working at a hydrolic shop at the time so i was able to modify it easily enough to make it work properly.

    Modified(vaccuum, water, and throttle body):

Intercooler mock-up was a pain, and eventually kept blowing pipes off, which ultimately led to a new idea.

Some Shots of the car the day it exploded:

Then the rad exploded and i had this custom built:

After this, it's well documented around here, my headgasket (as i eventually found out had been blown after around 80km of driving)

I left the car alone until this past spring and tore out the motor for a rebuild. Specs are around someplace, not that they really matter.

Also picked up these advan's in the idea of using them, but never did. They're still on a buddies car and are up for sale (17x9+38 f&r)

While this was all going on i was building a baller s13 for a buddy. It had a sweet mid-mount IC and i got hooked on the idea. SO i decided to mock up my own. This turned out to be a pain, but eventually worked out really nice.

As that was going on, everything was sent out to be re-coated in satin black. Less heat score. I also took the time to address some short comings of last years setup, mainly the coolant distribution under the head.

More Intercooler mock-up, with proper pipes.

Finished piping, under 2 feet. that'll keep spool up....

Again i sent out stuff to be powdercoated because i'm crazy and never happy with how things look.

That more or less takes care of a brief skim over of some of the build up.

    Onto the interior:
I picked up originally a a sparco bucket for the car, bud decided against it as i gained some weight. So to fix that, i got a fresh set of gtr seats from a r32. Also added a steering wheel that my aunt gave me after my uncle died a few years back. A big problem with fitting it into the car is that it's 5 bolt pattern and 99% of the hubs on the market are for 6 bolt.

A few hours in the machine shop and that was solved.

I guess this really just leaves the body kit i ordered from Origin in may. It was slow getting here, but at the price i paid, who's going to complaign

That's about it, tonns of other stuff either on order or in my garage waiting for me to have time to do it.
