    Rick's 89 GTS-t, Simple and Clean...

Figured I'd finally post a project thread...

Got this car bone stock. Sourced personally with the help of a friend over winter
40k, never seen snow, service records (not like I can read them), looks like a 2 year old car underneath with NO RUST I could find ANYWHERE! Pulled heatshield off cat without breaking a bolt!!

Some parts are from a previous 'Line that toasted it's motor after 2 weeks:-( , live and learn.

So I researched first this time and did this one properly, simple and clean:-D

Stuff I've done, that I remeber right now:-D

Trial Try-Force body kit, GTST specific, so it fits properly (off previous car)
Apexi 3.5" cat-back (off previous car)
Unknown brand F&R shock tower bars (off previous car)
    Unknown brand short shifter
    decat pipe
    GTR fuel pump
RS*R springs on KYB dampers - like the ride, don't need adjustability
VSR rims - had on another car, needed spacers to put on the 'Line
15MM spacers with extended studs (offset at 27 with them)
Fuzion rubber - great for the $$
    5/35 tint
    HKS intake
MBC set at about 11-12 PSI
Mines ECU - off previous car (ditched, got OEM, for now)
    Custom leather shift/ebrake boots
    Nismo shift knob
    Razo metal pedals
Custom made stainless DIN panel below radio w/
Blitz turbo timer & Ractive boost gauge (from previous car)
    Pioneer CD/MP3 deck
    4 Audiobahn speakers (4x6, 6.5)
10" Audiobahn sub in ported box
    California Monoblock 420w Sub amp
    Hornet keyless/security/start
    GTR hood/grille/latch assy
    EBC 300ZX TT brake pads
    New OEM 300ZX TT rotors
    SS flex lines
N1 dash radio button delete panel (I'm anal about useless buttons & switches, and stuff stuck on the dash, etc)

Maintenance done on arrival, and stuff to pass Ont safety:

    FUCA's
1 inner, 1 outer rear tierods
    300ZX TT alignment
    adjusted e-brake

All fluids changed for Royal Purple
    J30 fuel filter
    cleaned MAF
NA battery - cheap, out of a different car. (Red Top soon)
New NA side mount terminal ends
Coolant changed, added Royal Purple (Purple Ice)
    NA bulbs everywhere
    NGK BPCR6EIX plugs @ .9mm, cleaned & tested coils
    New 300ZX TT O2 sensor
Timing checked, cover removed to check belt/pullies - all perfect

    Some pics:

    With OEM hood....

    With GTR swap....

    Couple of interior...

Car is currently finishin up at the body shop with a full, all glass out paint job (hence my WTB post for a 1/4 window:-x ).
Will have new F&R windshield mouldings as well.
I'll post up fresh pics when she gets home!
Not an OEM color, but close, and Nice

Mod plans over the winter are an FMIC, Stinky's ECU tune, maybe custom rebuilt turbo with steel wheels + more boost.

Any opinions, or suggestions are welcome!:-D

Thanks for reading my long-ass post

very very nice ride you have there. Real clean. gotta love the trial body kit the most. Why are you getting another paint job? the paint on that looks so perfect.

Thanks for the compliment, I love the Trial kit too. I guess it's quite pricey. It was already on my previous car so I got lucky..

Paint is worse than it looks. I'll try to find the pic of it in the direct sun, and then you'll see..

The roof is ultra-faded, the bumper has quite a few chips, minor dent in L/F fender, and plus the new hood and grille:-D

Should look nice, I can't wait to pick it up. Should be early next week, if I find a 1/4 window

EDIT* Found a pic where the paint flaws are obvious.....faded faded FADED

Just curious, in this pic, does the paint look as bad to you guys as it does to me or am I just picky? Actually the wife wants to know..:-D

It actually doesn't look that bad. Compared to mine it looks great. But I also used to drive my car on the gravel to my gf's house. Living out in the country. How much are you paying for your paintjob?? Hope you're keeping it black.

I can't wait till I get a GTR hood and grill as well. Got my gtr front bumper.

    Lovin that look!

Now all you need is the trial wing to go with the rest of the kit. I know someone that has it. I bet he could even ship it with the ecu for a good price!

    Keep up the nice work.

and yeah, it looks faded. About as bad as mine. But my kids have scraped their bikes along the side of the car in the summer. SO I will be looking at paint in the spring.

Hey man, before you go to paint try a clay bar on and and a proper full day of detailing and then if she still has the fade to it and doesnt fill your cup then its time for a paint!!8-)

Clay bar doesn't really bring out the paint. I would try a heavy cut polish.

Car is looking good man! Im loving the grill. ;-)

Haha, thanks for the tips but I've tried most of that stuff to no avail.
Plus I've committed to the paint now (in the process) and am getting excited about it.

Should look better when everything is the same color again!

BTW that GTR grille IS mint, just like the seller said
