Well the exterior hasn't started yet. Going to be painting it a dark green with a few other nick nacks;-). Heres what it looks like now

    The pull

Got some good progress in there today

It is infact bored out to 83mm but it shows different in the photo

cylinders appear to be in great shape

Gonna Pull out the crank/rods/pistons tomorrow and start ordering some goodies I think i also have the super expensive tomei Headgasket aswell. Gonna have to bite the bullet and pick up another one

Well its already bored to 83mm. I think stock is 78mm? correct me if im wrong. Got the pistons/rods out today. I can't seem to get the crank pully off though. Is it just the huge bolt in front or am i missing something??

Anyways if the pros could chime in and tell me which RB the crank and rods are out of and if the pistons are forged?? That would be great. Enjoy...

    Cheers
    Ben

The crank and rods are stock, but I can't tell which RB its from. With 83mm bore you might have supra pistons (MK III, 7MGTE) or ( CA18DET Pistons )

Its a little of because of the bore but a basic idea of your displacement, depending on the crank and rods. Your smallest displacement is 2.2 ltr. That engine must have pulled hard before your took it out.

lol thanks for the comments guys. It was fun for the week i got to drive it. sounded like a mixed rb20/rb25/rb26 sound lol. It was running stock boost (no boost controller) and a ridiculously rich tune also a massive fmic and a 2535 so it had some lag.. haven't experienced the full potential yet.

I know the crank and rods are from nissan i just need to know which RB they came out of so i can start ordering parts;-) I got all winter to build this up so i may aswell save for good quality parts. should be a fun season next year!:drive:

    Cheers

Bump! noone knows what internals these are?

I can take measurements, more pics, ect... any help would be much appreciated.

Also my crank pully will not budge. The nut was no problem but the pully itself is on there like a steering wheel would be.

    Thanks
    Ben

rb24 needs 83mm pistons or it does not pass 2349cc to count as a true rb24
    your rb23 is actually a rb22

and you are absolutely dreaming if you think 82mm pistons in a rb20 is 2.2L

Allright here are the calculated numbers.

    RB20 - 78mm X 69.7 = 1998cc
    RB21 - 80mm X 69.7 = 2102cc
    RB22 - 82mm X 69.7 = 2209cc
The 82mm pistons would almost be bang on 2.2ltr
    RB23 - 82mm X 71.7 = 2272cc
    RB24 - 86mm X 69.7 = 2429cc
    RB24 - 83mm X 73.7 = 2393cc
yes you were right on this one my bad, I was just typing them off the top of my head ;-)

P.S. with a 83mm bore your RB20 with stock rods and crank should be a 2.3 ltr or 2263cc's.
