dang. make sure you don't screw up.
I've been brushing my teeth with jack but it's resulted in terrible amounts of tooth decay.

You might wanna check out Z-Tune in Vancouver (another Sponsor).
Most importantly, they are an AUTHORIZED Distributor for Tomei in North America.....so you don't have to worry if there are warranty issues.

Their Tomei Stroker Kits start @ about $6500 USD ($7300 CAD) and all of their Tomei prices actually work out CHEAPER than RHD Japan, as I have been checking over the last few days, comparing everything. They can get the entire line as well, so you can build a complete Tomei motor if you wish.

The Tomei 'Cooling Channel Piston' 2.8L Stroker Kit (about the best there is for kits anyways) is only $7600 USD.

It's worth saving a few grand if you can......and I am sure they can drop ship everything to you in the US, or in Canada.....
Just a thought, hope that helps.

i like the sounds of that, i want to see pics. make sure you get some good quality head studs and rod bolts. What oil pump are you going to run? if you do what alan suggested and buy the stroker from ztune then you will be able to get a quality oil pump as well (it sounds like you are going to rev this thing fairly high).

    any thoughts on a turbo?

Make sure you fit Tomei oilrestrictors to stop too much oil reaching head, baffle plate for sump to prevent uncovering pickup.

A head oildrain hose helps with oil return to sump -

Yeah I did Check out ztune today I could either go with all tomie Just have always beena huge HKS supporter, As far as oil pumps, I like the nismo desighn but I know Tomie makes one of the best after market ones. Turbo I allready have two Gt2871r's they are suposed to be able to run 750 to 850hp My goal right now is to reach somewhere around that mark.

Also I was wondering if any one here had used any of the variable valve timing kits we can get for the rb26, me and my buddy were talking about them today?

And yes I know it will be a high rev motor problebly around 9grand

The problem with the HKS stuff, is that, it's too overpriced for the most part and the Tomei is much better value for your money and in some cases, just BETTER QUALITY........(Oil Pumps anyone ?)

As far as a retro-fit VVT system.....again, too much cash and not worth it unless you have money to burn.
Improved bottom end, but for the money, something alot of people are willing to live without.

    For your build........
The Tomei Cooling Channel Pistons are also pretty much the best pistons you can get for an RB26/RB28 build and THAT is money well spent, if you have it to spend. Otherwise, the standard Stroker kit is great value as well.

Here's your list, using Z-Tune Pricing and Product:

    ZTune - Tomei 2.8L RB26/28 Stroker Kit - $6498.00 USD (Add $1200.00 USD for Cooling Channel Pistons).....(Compare to HKS @ 8,917.92 USD)
ZTune - Tomei Procam camshafts - $342-$361 USD per Camshaft (Depending on choice)
    ZTune - Tomei Oversized Valves - ? ? ? (Supertech +1m Over, $550-$600 set?)
ZTune - Tomei Valve Lifter Kit - $409 USD (or $38/each)
ZTune - Tomei Adjustable Cam pully Set - $342.00 USD
ZTune - Tomei Strengthened Timing Belt - $180.50 USD
    ZTune - Tomei Type-B Valve Spring (11.5 lift/9,500 RM) - $649.00 USD
ZTune - Tomei Strengthened Valve Guide Set - $504.00 USD

As you can see, the only thing they did not list were new valves, but Supertech are very common in North America and the pricing I listed above is average in most cases.

    Something IMPORTANT that you forgot

ZTune - Tomei Oversized Oil Pump, RB26 - $1444.00 USD

    Also....Tomei & Nismo Gaskets:

Like I said, their prices rival RHDjapan and nearly EVERY case, are better due to shipping and Authorized warranty service in North America (especially for this kind of money spent)...not to mention, support. I would strongly consider them, as they have alot of happy customers on this forum, as well as many others......again, just a thought.

I can probably also guess that with an order of this magnitude, they may also be willing to 'deal' a little bit as well (although, most of their prices are already listed as discount...but it never hurts to ask).

Save a boatload of cash and put it elsewhere in your build - Go all Tomei since it seems as though you have the money to do so.
    Cheers and Happy Building,
    Allan

I definitely suggest buying products from authorized distributors in north america. If you purchase grey market parts from japan you end up getting someones hand where you do not want it.

Looks like quite the build! I, as mentioned by Mcfly and JD, have always enjoyed dealing with ZTune. Another good guy to deal with is Daryl @ tunerlab, he has always been able to get anything I need for a reasonable price too. Good luck with the build.
