So, I sadly had a 5-6 paragraph story written out. While spell checking it, it deleted. So Ill slowly be adding pictures and story while I go along as I am stupidly forgetful.
Spring 2009 to Winter 2009
I had boughten my first car which was a 90 integra RS. I was absolutely in love with this car, but very soon after buying it I found out it was a lemon and on the downfall. FAST.
So I figured this was a good time to find myself a car for next spring.
I never really had a car in mind, but Ive always had an infatuation with import and JDM.
Sadly, I live in a small town with approx 40-50k people here. There is NOTHING for an import scene here. I get the most awkward stares driving RHD. Its funny.
Anyways, back on topic. I got discouraged seeing that saskatchewan also doesnt have much import (atleast they didnt on kijiji, autotrader, etc)
So I looked around kijiji, craigslist, etc.
There it was, I came across my 93 Hcr32 four door skyline and absolutely fell in love.
It wasnt exactly my dream car, but it was EXACTLY what I wanted at the time and still do.
The only Issue I had was the price, he was orignally asking 7 for the car. Me being really young, working part time for minimum wage was extremely discouraged.
I ended up talking to the guy and finding out he was flexible on the price. After some discussion, he seen my situation and how far Id need to travel for the sale and cut me an EXTREMELY GOOD DEAL. I ended up settling the deal for 4500 + sales tax (import dealer)
Details on the car before purchase
93 hcr32 four door
78k on orignal engine, body and chassis
Completely mint accept for one scratch on roof
No accidents, clean title
anyways. So after discussing the price and details I took a trip down to calgary with my step-father and uncle to buy this beautiful machine.
We went about mid december before christmas which not thinking all that great was a terrible season to buy a RWD turbo vehicle. (Atleast to drive it 10 hours home during snow)
Not only was it crappy enough being just winter! We got caught in a blizzard for about 2 hours. It was a nightmare, sititng in the car we drove there in, watching my step-dad drive my precious car slipping and slidding everywhere was.....heartbreaking. Lol.
After ALOT of time, and patience we finally made it to the saskatchewan border in clean roads and weather!
Sadly after bringing it home, it was cleaned, washed and parked for the winter in my garage. (Summer car)
Once spring 2010 hit. I was EXTREMELY excited to get this thing on the road. Only thing standing in my way was the insurance company and safety.
I set an appointment with a local shop that could do it. Luckily, It passed with flying colours! Only issue they had was the shift knob didnt have the 5 speed pattern, and the aftermarket pedals needed to come off.
Sadly, I dont remember much about this season + time. I was working alot trying to pay this car off while I was off of school.
I do remember one incident that makes me l-o-l now due to my stupidity back then, two weeks before I planned on parking it I hopped into my car on my way to my girlfriends house at the time. To my suprise, I couldnt get the clutch to disengage! Me thinking it eventually just pood on me, or something was seized I left it over winter just due to lack of funds to fix it.
After a bunch of research and phone calls I figured out I needed to bleed my clutch lines! So I got my buddy that owns a 88 7mgte supra to help me bleed the clutch line. It worked like a DREAM! It didnt even slip anymore (at the time i didnt know it slipped, I figured car was just laggy or being odd, I was dumb with cars :P)
I didnt figure that out till spring 2011. Anyways, once I got the clutch fixed I platted it again and put it back on the road.
This year, I finally found the import scene or group in my town. Which I am very very good friends with now. (most of them atleast, some are tools :3)
Anyways, we meet locally weekly for a cruise + hang out which is alot of fun. We also have been to car shows and meets together that are local!
I never really thought my car to be anything amazing, or great so I never wanted to put it into a car show until I brought mine to one, and instead of parking with the show cars, I parked in the parking lot. To my suprise, even some of the muscle car guys were interested to see what my jap crap (lolz) had under the hood.
So that was the start of many car shows I have broughten my baby too.
