    *Projekt GTS-R*

As a couple of you know already, I've decided to take on the challenge of building my very own GTS-R type M

A couple weeks ago a RB26DETT came up for sale at a very good price, to which I could not pass. The engine was swapped out of a buddies GTR with the understanding that there was piston clap. I bought off of him knowing this of course, and of course was expecting damage to at least a piston, and cylinder wall...

I recieved the cams and caps two weeks later so when I got them I had to just place them on top with all the caps to make sure I had everything, as there were some issues with missing parts... I had the head just sitting on top with a couple bolts holding it so when I popped all the **** on I forgot I can't lift the head back off without taking the cams back off :x

I just snapped these shots last night to show what I'm working with here.

    Pistons in a box..

I'll get some more pics up as soon as i finish the fuel and brake lines on my winter beater...

Good project. Looks like fun, I wish I had the time to build an engine up.

You can remove the head bolts with the cams sitting at TDC
There will be a marking for each cam pully which will line the recession in the cam up with the place you need to get the 10mm(or m10 not sure) hex head bolts

I suggest lining up the balance marks as well soyou dont hit the pistons.

Well now that my winter beater is on the road, and no longer requires new EVERYTHING :P, i have time to get on with this build. She's stripped right down to the block now and awaiting a nice hot TSP bath.. i will be taking the crank and cams to be balanced in the mean time...

Main bearings definately had some ware, but nothing dangerous to say the least:
