    passenger door lock stopped working

so I just realized that my passenger door's lock just stopped working. When I lock the car, I hear the power lock trying to lock the door but it doesn't. The motor and everything is working and the lock "flap" thing on the door by the handle moves but not all the way. Door does not lock from outside or inside. But if I use the key on the door from the outside and turn it to lock and hold it there it will lock while the keys is turned and once I let go of the pressure on the key to get it to center to remove it, it isn't locked anymore. My question is, is the door lock fuucked or is it something small like a hook being unhooked and preventing the lock from catching? R32 btw

remove door panel and check for the lock rod , it may be jamming from it to move freely . wd40 all the moving parts

WD40'd and greased everything. It super grimey causing it become sticky and stiff. I got it some what working now... Sometimes the power lock will work, some times I have to hold the handle up while turning the key in the lock, but it still manages to lock eventually after a few tries if the power doesn't lock it. I shouldn't need a new lock I think, just need to take it out of there, clean it and put it back together with fresh grease.

I had this problem awhile ago. Take off the panel and use some wd40 on the rod. It'll fix it. It's working because you still hear the mechanism trying to lock it. If it unlocks but won't lock, there should be a screw that holds the two rods together, make sure the screw it tighten. This can come loose if you were trying to unlock your car during cold weather.

After the grease had a chance to soak all day in the heat it's actually all working again, for now. Still covered in dirt and grime though. But problem solved for now and hopefully for good. Thanks for the advice people.
