    Rb20 running on 5 cylinders?

    Hi

On my way to the saskatoon car show I noticed an issue I thought I had fixed.

Basically what happens is my car runs really really rough. It makes a rumblyish sound and almost sound like it has a stroker kit. In my opinion, I think one of the cylinders isn't firing.

At first I thought it was bad fuel, which I put in 3 weeks ago. I have went thro about 3 tanks of 91 shell premium 0% ethanol and I still have the issue. Ill post a video about how it sounds and maybe someone will pinpoint whats going on.

Another issue, I was trying to hook up a obd reader to my car w/ my buddies laptop. I couldn't seem to find the plug for it. Anyone know were? Its a hcr32 four door

    cheers

obd1 is by the fuse panel under the steering wheel, pull ur coil packs and check them, also pull ur spark plugs and check the gap on them

You'll know off the bat if one cylinder isn't firing as soon as you pull the plugs. Rather than using an OBD logger to check for issues, just do a simple diagnostic on the car itself by grounding the 2 pins on the connector itself. There are a dozen DIY write up's lingering around on that topic.

Okay, I'll be sure to check that.

I also noticed something fairly.... ODD.

My car used to ONLY do this when it was cold, and when I mean cold, I mean dead cold after sitting a day. It'd make a.....metal shimmying sound if you can call it that.
It does it at about 3k revs, either speeding up SLOWLY or slowing down SLOWLY. ONLY DOES IT SLOWLY. If I throttle up past 3k, ti doesn't do it (or maybe i dont hear it?)

Any clues on this? Is it relevant?
