    Question oil pressure

looking to install a mechanical oil pressure sensor to replace the notoriously faulty stock sensor in the gts4 r32. here is what i know:
i will be running oil into my cab to monitor it.
the stock sending unit is beside the oil filter
what i would like to know:
what thread size is the stock fitting.
is there a better place to tap in to monitor pressure?

thanks all. any info or explanations from your own experiences will be greatly appreciated.

the oil pressure sensor is normally a 1/8 npt if i m not mistaken. I was also considering a mechanical oil pressure at one point but ended up going with a short sweep, if you plan on running the line into the cab make sure you use either braided stainless line or I know auto meter makes a copper line kit that will run all the way through.

the stock oil sender is indeed notorious for failing. But why go mechanical?? Any decent aftermarket electronic sender will give you the reliability you need, and you won't have to add the complexity or danger of sending oil in and out of your cabin. There's also the pressure drop from running in those lines too; oil pressures vary somewhat based on where you take the reading from.

I use an Apexi at the stock sensor point in the block. It's been working flawlessly for five years, and responds so quickly I could virtually use it as a tachometer. I could also take the reading from the oil filter relocation plate, but it's not as accurate - I want to know pressure in the block, not at the filter.
