rb tranny short shifter question

Hey, so I know everyone is gonna tell me to search but I already have and can't come up with a definitive answer. Are rb25/20, sr20, and ka24 tranny short shifters interchangeable? I can get a free shifter from a 240sx or r33 but I wanna know before I waste gas and time to pick it up if it'll fit without modification. I've read that sr/ka/rb is the same, that vg30/rb25 is same, ka/sr/rb20 is same, etc etc with no definitive answer so can someone clear this up please

I know the S13 KA tranny bolts up to a RB20DET so i imagine its the same.. also my friend and I both had our shifters out at the same time and his R33 GTST shifter looked the same as mine (RB20DET)

Go to the B&M website and search for skyline short shifter
There is a list of cars that it will work with
My B&M wouldn't fit my rb25, short shifter was for non turbo trannies

It isn't a b&m shifter. I don't know what brand it is (one of my buddies got his with his car and the other was a cheapy ebay on. Both look the same, but I've also had trouble in the past with things "looking the same" lol

ka transmission shifters are not the same as the ones for a rb20det (read will not bolt up)

Hmmm weird u must have to swap tranny and all then..all i know is the trannies bolt up..an know an r33 one will work. Ps. That forums is only for b&m shifters not oem... http://forums.nicoclub.com/b-m-insta...t-t112010.html. ...

A certain short shifter works on these models
If you have an rb25, make sure the shifter you do get it not compatible for any of these models. I learnt the hard way

b&m or not it still shows you the mounting plate differences (manufacturer/oem regardless)

I have a stock s13/s14 shifter, RB25 shifter, and could take the RB26 out if I really needed to compared.

I can already tell you the RB25 shifter bushing (plastic ring on the little ball on the bottom of the shifter) is a LOT bigger then the s13/s14 (sr/ka same). Haven't seen the stock shifter on a RB20 turbo or not, so can't really comment on that one.
