Fuel pump help?

As my 25 is under progress for a 400-450whp goal, I'm constantly hearing two different sides saying that I should get rid of my Walbro 255 fuel pump and upgrade to at least a Bosch 406...

Other side of the story is people running TWO Walbro 255 fuel pumps safely on their 450-500hp setups.

Thoughts? This car is a daily driver, and I will be running a GReddy fuel rail with Sard 800cc injectors if that helps.

Make sure you have good voltage to fuelpumps.

If on racetrack or pulling high lateral G on road course with low fueltank, should run a collector / surge tank in trunk to prevent fuel starvation problems (could result in engine failure). Also have teflon? coated braided fuel hoses to prevent it from creating a fuel smell.

Lift pump (new stock GTR fuelpump or similar walbro fuelpump, etc), SARD collector / surge tank (or similar internal fuelpump type tank which takes up less room in trunk), Bosch fuelpump in collector / surge tank (One of the Sard collector tanks is designed to run internal type Bosch fuelpumps).

If producing more hp, then upgrade to bigger, custom made collector tank with external fuelpumps, etc.

It is fact that the walbro pumps do not flow the greatest at high pressure. If you do a bit of searching there are great flowcharts out there that show walbros flow drops off significantly at higher line pressures. Fun fact, walbro actually offers a 400lph pump.

The bosch 044 modified to run in-tank is a pretty beastly pump, it is normally an inline pump but you can buy a sock from pegasus racing to run it in the tank. The bosch 040 is made to run in the tank but doesn't flow as much.

My pump of recommendation and of my own use is the aeromotive stealth 340. It flows a hefty amount for the money. Here is my reasoning:

Aeromotive are good fuelpumps. I think HT 7sec R32GTR drag car has a Aeromotive fuel system with around 1600-1700awhp.

Skym you mentioned Voltage, how do you track voltage going to the fuel pump?

Multimeter. Make sure you have fresh wiring, etc to fuelpumps, don't rely on old factory wiring.
