    RB20 S13 swap

A friend of mine bought this thing already swapped. It had a bunch of boost leaks, and I've fixed those. Everything is stock. It has low power. The boost gauge reads 12 psi, I can hear the bypass valve working when I let off the throttle. It revs smoothly, and idles smooth. It has red valve covers and the ceramic turbo.

I'm thinking it is lacking fuel. I'm guessing it should be getting 3 bar? It has the stock fuel pump.

If it's not fuel I'm guessing it might be out of time.

I don't think it should be hitting 12 psi either. It has the stock wastegate and the hose is connected to the pressure side of the turbo. I checked the wastegate and it's working.

Red valve covers = R31 RB20DET that has less hp than stock R32 RB20DET. Turbo size, head (cams, etc), intake manifold (I think R31 RB20DET is NICS vs R32 RB20DET that's ECCS and that includes ECU to match) are the differences between R32 RB20DET, R31 RB20DET. From what I understand, most parts can swap over between the R31 RB20DET, R32 RB20DET.

R31 RB20DET (Group-A spec) with factory tweeks (equal length low mount exhaust manifold, T3/To4E turbo, FMIC, ECU, etc) -

R31 RB20DET has the 248 duration intake cam, as mentioned here -

    http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-ca...aft-specs.html

Also red top RB20DET is not just found in R31, but Z chassis as well.

With R32 RB20DET internal wastegate actuator it should be around 12psi with podfilter, modified stock BOV (so it doesn't leak), 3" exhaust from turbo outlet / dumppipe.

If stock R31 RB20DET fuelpump, I think it's 115lph vs R32 RB20DET with 135lph (same lph fuelpump as used on R33 25T). Might be running out of fuel if at 12psi with 115lph fuelpump.

From what I can remember, it's 45.5psi with vacuum hose connected and 7.1psi higher with vacuum hose removed on R32 RB20DET. That's at idle. With engine off it should be around 52.6psi (45.5psi + 7.1psi).

Base ignition timing (CAS on front of engine) is 15 degrees BTDC at 650rpm on R32 RB20DET for manual trans, manual ECU. Not sure but it might be the same on R31 RB20DET.
