    Any experience with R33 RB25DET GTS4?

I was wondering if anyone on here knew anything about the R33 Skylines that came factory equipped with an RB25DET.

I've heard some people say the GTS4 transmission from the R32s was garbage, so I'm wondering if this also holds true for the R33. I've also heard the RB25 engine is not really up to par against the RB20DET and the RB26DETT and has some oil burning isuses? Can anyone verify this? What're some common issues with the RB25DET? In fact, what are some common issues with R33s in general?

Thanks...sorry if some of this stuff has been asked before.

Edit: did some closer looking and it appears as if the R33 GTS4 came with the N/A RB25. But, same questions apply: common issues and so on.

Just higher compression which limit's boost level (without blowing ringlands) you can run reliably with RB25DET when thrashing on racetrack, drag strip, etc.

R32, R33, R34 are the same with rust, failure problems, just slightly different HICAS (hydraulic driven HICAS rack on R32 vs electric driven HICAS rack on R33, R34), etc design's between R32, R33.

The VVT on RB25DET helps it to increase hp, torque -

Stagea was sold with 4wd RB25DET that can be fitted to R33 GTS-4.

Can convert R33 GTS-4 to R33 GTR with R33 GTR donor car (parts car) -

I'm more thinking as the car for a reliable daily driver in the summer. I'm not into doing heavy mods to go fast.

Is it easy to disable the HICAS on the R33? Where are the common rust spots? I know on my R32 there was a bit starting on the A pillar.

Found a really nice example of a GTS4 R33 and am thinking of pulling the trigger.
